ISM band terminal antennas overview

When selecting ISM-band and LoRa terminal antennas, there are many options for your application. Download our ISM band terminal antennas overview here:

ISM Antennas

If you are mounting antennas directly onto a terminal or enclosure using 169 MHz, 433 MHz, 868 MHz or 915 MHz, then the flyer has some suggestions for antenna choices. Our portfolio is not limited to these antennas and we have a full range for terminal antennas through to high gain omni antennas like the DMO8684 or the WMO8685.

The 169 MHz antennas are used for the European licence-free metering band at 169 MHz and we can offer terminal or wall-mount antennas at this frequency.

MH433 – 433 MHz quarter wave helical antenna

The MH433 is a 433 MHz quarter wave helical antenna based on an injection-moulded helical ¼ wave design and operates with a centre frequency of 433 MHz. Suitable for ISM-based terminals operating in the licence-free band, the MH433 is small enough to mount onto mobile or portable devices as well as fixed terminals.

It is approximately 75mm in length with a flexible sheath and has a SMA-Male connector as standard. Other connectors such as TNC or BNC can be supplied (minimum order quantities may apply) and also other frequencies are possible, typically from 150 MHz to 480 MHz. The length of the antenna will vary depending on the centre frequency specified.

The MH433 sits alongside the MW433 whip antenna in our portfolio of 433 MHz solutions.

MW433 – single band 433 MHz whip antenna

The MW433 is a single band 433 MHz whip antenna operating at the 433 MHz frequency band based on a 1/4 wave groundplane dependent monopole design. Housed in a flexible and durable injection-moulded sheath, the MW433 is suitable for ISM-band terminals operating in the 433 MHz licence-free band.

It is approximately 170mm in length with a flexible sheath and has a SMA-Male connector. The part code for the SMA-Male model is FMW35075-SM-ST

Other connectors can be supplied (minimum order quantities may apply). These include TNC-Male and BNC-Male connectors. The MW antenna can also be tuned to other UHF frequencies. Please contact us for more information.

For an compact outdoor 433 MHz wall-mount antenna, do check out our WCO-433-WMB.

FEW433 – groundplane independent ISM band flexible antenna

The FEW433 is a groundplane independent ISM band flexible antenna based on a 5/8 wave element design operating at 433 MHz.  Using a very flexible radiating element, the FEW433 is ideal for 433 MHx ISM band applications where a flexible antenna is required for either mobile or fixed radio terminals. The FEW433 is an efficient antenna with a VSWR of less than 1.5:1 and overall in length it measures approximately 338mm.

The FEW433 can be supplied with either SMA-Male or TNC-Male connectors as standard. Other connectors may be possible, but minimum order quantities may apply.

For a wall-mount 433 MHz antenna, you could consider our compact outdoor omni antenna, the WCO-433-WMB.

WCO-433-WMB – 433 MHz compact outdoor wall mount antenna

The WCO-433-WMB is a 433 MHz compact outdoor wall mount antenna based on a durable 1/4 Wave 433 MHz antenna designed for outdoor deployments. It is supplied as a wall-mount option and mounted on a sturdy L-Bracket which functions as the groundplane for the antenna. It is possible to use the WCO-433 antenna to mount directly onto an enclosure, please contact EAD for this type of application.

Housed in the robust, waterproof, UV-resistant and flame retardent WCO Sheath, the antenna mounts onto a the L-bracket by way of  N-Female connector and is held in place with a nut and washer. The construction of this antenna is very durable and also very compact making it ideal for outdoor deployments for a variety of ISM-band applications including security and telemetry applications.

A jumper cable with N-Male should be used to connect the WCO-433 to the radio.

This antenna design can be customised to different frequencies in the 380-512 MHz band including TETRA 380-400 MHz, 410-430 MHz or 450 MHz.

The WCO-2400-WMB is a similar antenna but operating at 2.4 GHz.
